Description
We choose the modern, futureproof LiFePO4 (LFP) battery type for our expandable battery modules. This means both that the materials used inside battery cell will not cause any fire or explosion and the LFP battery holds
- Competitive prices
- High energy density -> lower weight
- Longer life
Each module (Battery) has its own battery management system (built-in BMS) and charger. The VE-4850 also have its built-in LED meter showing Voltage, Current and Capacity in %.
The quality of cell is very consistent and can last more than 2000 charging cycles. Its so called C-rating (the measurement of current in which a battery is charged and discharged at) is 3 times, that means a single 48V50AH module can output 150A continuously.
So to see if your type of boat and your needs, are higher than what can be handled with one battery why you can buy one and test the outboard motor performance and get amperage to calculate before you know the exact battery capacity you need.
For example, your trial boat testing shows you the motor current drawn from battery module is around 65A, and the reach you need to operate your boat for is around 3 hours. This means you need 65A*3H=195Ah battery capacity to meet your optimal (minimum) requirements, this tells that you have to buy 4 sets of 48V50AH (4*50Ah=200Ah) battery modules all together.
This can than be handled by parallel linking up to 4 expandable battery modules to form a larger capacity battery bank by using our Scalable Battery Hub. You can use two such hubs to link up to 8 battery modules
